Born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico, Vicente Fernandez is hailed as the ?king of the rancheros? back home. Though he was born to a poor family, Fernandez's singing career burgeoned in his teens when he won several singing competitions. At the age of 21 he received his first payment for singing in a show called ?La Calandria Musical?, earning a meager 35 pesos for his role!

Today however, Fernandez is one of Mexico's greatest creative exports and has a huge fan-base both in Mexico and in the USA. His 2012 tour sees the 'Sinatra of Rancheras' travel to the US and around the world in a 'farewell tour' after almost 50 years in the entertainment business.
